A bit of history
KERAPLAN was founded in 1971 as KERAMOS, a small-scale manufacturer of anti-acid tiles and accessories for laboratory settings.
For more than 10 years, KERAMOS trialled, researched and tested special new compositions for the production of large-format anti-acid ceramic tiles, becoming the first company in Italy, and among the first in the world, to produce this type of material, using a single-firing process at very high temperatures.
In 1982, KERAMOS changed its name to KERAPLAN and began producing exclusively laboratory-specific, large-format anti-acid ceramic tiles.
Over the past 40 years, KERAPLAN has completely changed its original facility, introducing new technologies, automating many of its production departments and further improving the quality of its products. In recent years, the existing facility has been modernised even further, with the construction of new areas and the expansion of many of the existing production departments.
KERAPLAN also has an in-house laboratory for the daily inspection of all raw materials used in production and for research and development activities. As a result, KERAPLAN has been able to achieve the highest quality standards, without ever neglecting attention to style and design.
